Swanee River

Another gloriously sunny day today. And although it was actually cooler overall, the total lack of a breeze meant it felt warmer than yesterday.
Another long walk was obviously in order, and having done the castle yesterday, we stayed low level today, along the river.
With the blossom starting to appear, crystal clear waters and hardly anyone else about it was a lovely amble in the warm conditions. Watched a heron for a while but it was either not hungry or a slightly incompetent fisher because it just remained motionless all the time we were staring at it.
At least the swan could be bothered to raise its head as we passed by, though it quickly went back to sleep once it realised we were not a threat. We passed its partner further upstream - paddling furiously, it was obviously in a hurry to get back to the nest.
It was still nice and warm when we got home so I decided I couldn’t really put off the evil moment any longer and dragged the lawnmower out of hibernation for the first cut of the year. Not sure I’ll be doing the last cut of the year though. We are now firmly of the opinion that a house move is the only answer to our lack of space so it may be we will have gone from here by the time the grass stops growing in October.
As soon as Easter is out of the way, we need to get moving. First thing is to arrange for a second viewing of the number one contender on the short list. Assuming everything checks out we’ll try and get it for the best price we can, and then move as fast as possible to complete all purchases/sales/renovations so we can be settled in before autumn.
It could turn out to be a busy summer...
