Anzio. Raining on the sea.
Another day of wretched rain and wind - just nature doing its thing and I'm stuck inside, resigned to just watching. Spring is just around the corner, apricot buds are swelling nicely. The beach in the photo is where the allies landed in the second world war. This particular stretch, "Peter Beach" was where the Brits landed. A few years ago our G.shep dug up a horse brass by the front gate and we couldn't help wondering if it had been a good lucky thing belonging to some poor young soldier.
