Making room for the rockery

This morning we delivered Paddy and Caitlin's car back to Porty. I accompanied Mr hazelh by bike as he ran the route home again. It was a hard ride/run against a head wind.

This afternoon we gardened (some more). I focused on clearing the space to the far left of this picture for a rockery, and on relocating the removed plants. Mr hazelh laid the foundations for the rocks with the contents of the middle spoil pile in Friday's blip. We also did some weeding and lawn-to-be levelling. It all looks so much better here than it does in the extra from 20th March.

We need to buy some extra paving slabs to go around the shed and the compost box. I decided to make the calculation of the number of slabs required using a scientific method with graph paper and a calculator. This turned out to be much more difficult than I imagined. In the end it was much easier to go outside and measure up in situ. Sixteen 600mm x 300mm slabs are required.

I'll be back in the garden tomorrow...

Exercise today: 5 mile bike ride; gardening.
