Skunk

I hesitate about showing a photo of this skunk cabbage, tucked away in a corner of our bog garden next to a pond.
 
It’s an invasive species and our gardening friends are horrified we give it space.
 
But it’s spectacular and I first came across it some years ago during an Open gardens visit to a garden near Callander. Despite misgivings from M that it would stink I insisted on buying a plant.  Neither of us realised at the time its an invasive species.
 
Fortunately it has shown no signs of spreading, maybe because we take the precaution of cutting the flowers down before the seeds set.
