More chilly sparkle
Another very cold but beautifully bright morning. We headed to the canal for a bit less exposure to the bitter wind.
It worked in the main but there were still icy blasts in exposed spots but we managed a coffee sitting in Roberts Park watching people of all ages on all types of wheels. Some things I had never seen but the wide smooth paths through the park are ideal for experienced and novice riders alike. Lots of blossom trees and magnolias in flower in the park as well as the lovely daffodils.
We continued along the stretch of the R Aire past the Bradford Rowing club where several single scullers were practicing.
This stretch had lots of wild flowers in bloom. I saw my first Bluebell here about 2 weeks ago and now there are lots of patches of them blooming. The Butterbur are in flower everywhere amongst the Celandines and Wood Anemones and the garlic flower (Ramsons) are in bud and quite pungent.
Spring seems to be moving very fast despite the return to very cold weather.
Since getting home we have had a couple of hail showers and something that was a bit like a snow storm! Sun’s back out now.
Amongst the daffodils you can see Eda when she came out of her second pre-school taster session in Bath. She seemed much happier than when she went for her first one last week so I think all will be well when she starts the week after next.
