Women’s Shed
This story is a bit complicated, you’ll need to sit down and concentrate!
The Sparrow has become a member of the Coolum ‘Women’s Shed’! It’s a social group who do a range of activities from Crochet to Ukulele and most other things you can imagine. She attends the crochet and running groups (not held concurrently but both seem to be followed by visiting the coffee shop near the Surf Club).
Coolum is the next town South of us. It’s at the other end of the beloved dog beach. Recent stormy weather has taken a lot of our sand away. So the beach up near our house is about a metre lower than usual and high tide comes right up to the sand dunes.
This blip is of the Coolum end of the dog beach where the sand is almost covering the railing of the access track. The Sparrow took it after running group. Our village would be just up in the mist somewhere. Clearly that’s our sand!
There’s also a ‘Men’s Shed’ at Coolum. They do mainly blokey stuff like carpentry, but they do have a music group who seem to play real music like Johnny Cash standards. (The Silverback is planning to infiltrate it to see if he can corrupt them into playing jazz). No Dog’s Shed unfortunately but then we have the Dog Beach which is better!
This is only a thought. Maybe the Men’s Shed blokes could fill their wheelbarrows with our sand and bring it back!
