Woodland walk
No snow fell today and any left on the ground from yesterday melted very quickly in the morning. We even had some sunshine. Friend J and I went for a walk locally which included a loop through the nearby Community Woodland. Six years ago, most of the Sitka spruce plantation in this area was felled and there is now a pleasant open walk beside the Ardhu Burn. Eventually the area will be replanted but with more consideration given to amenity, using stands of native broadleaf trees in key places such as either side of the burn, as well growing conifers as a cash crop.
