Take them Pieces, and Build them Skyward

Missymoo's March Challenge
6. Chair: We see handfuls of them everyday, so why not take a photo?

In 1962, me Mam and Da bought this Ercol Chair and five matching ones, along with a table. I wasn't born.

I remember sitting round the table the Christmas my Gran died, in 1971. There were loads of us at the table. More than fitted. I'm sure there were the four of us, my Nant and Nunk, My Nunks Sister and her husband and their daughter which would be 9. There may have been more, I can't quite remember.

When my cousin moved house, my mum gave them the table, and so the table and the six Ercol chairs moved to Glasgow, and it started a whole new life there.

When we moved to this house in January 1999, the table came to us, with pride of place in our new Dining Room. We held onto the table for probably another 7 years, and now it's back to Mum. 51 years after she first got it.

But I held on to this chair. House doesn't seem a home without one of the Ercol chairs in it.
