Grey Heron

When I got to the Loch today the young one was perched on a submerged log a bit behind some trees which made it difficult for a woman who was trying to get a photograph of it. When I arrived it flew straight over and stood in front of me. I couldn't resist taking a shot then glancing over at her total expression of disbelief. I gave it it's fillets and left and it flew straight back to the log. 
I am begining to think that the young one is a female based on it's very small size and short beak but I could easily be wrong.
