Stare down!

In the battle for the sunflower seeds, the cardinal and woodpecker were locked in a stare down. The woodpecker usually flies away while the cardinal is "king of the hill" so to speak. This time neither wanted to give in. Those sunflower seeds looked too tasty.

It's definitely not the sharpest picture I snapped today, but it may be the most interesting despite the motion blur.

Another sunflower seed lover, an overly friendly doe, walked right up to me today and licked the seeds off my hand. I did not try to attract her attention; I was just walking down the trail. Feeding the animals is against the rules in the park, but it was an awesome experience.
