Nicky and her Nikon

Xena

This morning I did my first outdoor run with Gavin and Xena. In winter I usually run on the treadmill as it is too muddy in the woods - having clay soil in this area it gets so boggy that the routes I like to run are just not feasible in winter. It was cold at 6C but I soon warmed up and thankfully the woods were very dry with firm ground. Xena loves it when we go running with her, she probably does double the distance that we do as she darts off onto all the side paths from the main track we are running on. I enjoyed the run and felt strong on it so that was good.

Back home we waited a while and then had breakfast. It has been a grey day with a little rain, so I did not feel inspired to take any photos outdoors. I went with Gavin to his golf club (to collect a dine at home meal from there) and thought I would get some photos of the beautiful grounds there but all the blossoms are fading and it was not that inspiring. So Xena to the rescue, she was just sitting here looking out and the light was lovely and soft so I managed to get a photo before she noticed and moved away, which she usually does when I lift the camera up to her face.

I am getting so excited for my haircut in 6 days time - yes I am counting down the days! Actually, I am also getting excited at the thought that Boris can also get his hair cut too - I am tired of looking at his frightful hair - surely his fiancé could have cut it for him?

I have been reading up on the new requirements for travelling to Europe post Brexit. I have applied for my GHIC card but one needs a 'green card' to drive there and the worst thing is we can no longer take any food in the car with us. I always pack our own food as the food from those service areas in France is just awful and not the kind of food I eat. I think the no food rule also applies to dog food which is ridiculous if that is the case.
