Beds for Bees
The community raised bed is being replanted so that it is better for pollinators. This means taking out the existing plants (they'll be replanted elsewhere of course), adding new compost then planting perennials which bees and other pollinators love. The annual bedding plants beloved of municipal planting schemes don't do much for the bees. In fact they tend to be drenched in chemicals such as pesticides so are positively harmful. This bed will show how its possible to use perennials in a more useful and sustainable way.
Still cold though brilliant sunshine. Until the occasional snowflake appears.
