Female Chaffinch

Lovely to see a pair of chaffinches in the trees round the river this morning. I did have a few photos of the more colourful male too but I liked the female in the pine tree. Not that they're rare I know but still good to spot. Strangely I blipped a female chaffinch in the garden exactly three years ago.

It was - 4° last night and really frosty. I went out about 08:00 and the grass was still white but the sun was getting to work. It looks like a perfect sunny day ahead but really we need a bit of warmth to help the garden. It is very chilly.

I am going to be looking after our grandson today while his mum and dad are at work. So it is going to be busy and fun. I'll look at all your journals later.
