Changing Rooms

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

Lots of equipment arrived today - chairs, beds and a hoist which should make things a lot easier.

Except the wheelchair didn’t come and the hoist hasn’t been signed off by the OT so it can’t be used for another 3 days (as it’s the weekend) which is a pain in the @rse as moving Penny is very difficult.

The Duke and I spent most is the day rearranging furniture and beds. We both had a moment of feeling quite pleased that we’d done a good job and had been really productive until reality crept back in and reminded us of why we are doing all of this.

Tracy, one of the drop in carers, went out of her way (completely unprompted) to source us a wheelchair and brought it round this afternoon in her own time. The drop in carers are amazing. I will never be able to express enough gratitude for everything they do. Also, it cannot be coincidence that they have chosen such an empathetic and caring profession and all LOVE Murphy. I mean really love seeing him and making a huge fuss of him. Including Katie who is obviously allergic to him as her eyes go completely bloodshot by the time she leaves!
