A Blip-Postcard from ...........

........... right by the pool.

Near the pool are the large water connectors that are used for the hoses to clean the area - the Greater Antillean Grackles (Quiscalus niger) perch on these and drink from them ..... I love the way the sunlight catches this one and throws a shadow of his own beak onto his feathers - and, apart from a small crop, this is SOOC.

Grackles - you either love 'em or hate 'em - I love them!!
They are noisy and pushy and bossy but they have so much attitude and are so vocal and expressive - I actually managed to handfeed one the other day with some bread :-))
