A view of the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
April is a lovely month, with so much beauty unfolding in Nature and the neighbourhood gardens. The remaining trees with blossom are a great joy, but it is distressing how many trees have been chopped down and they are irreplaceable. Rishton is more green than concreted being semi rural.
I went for my first canal walk in a long time. High Street bridge to Spring Street bridge is a tow path edged with daffodils. I saw a few dog walkers. The new housing estate overlooks the canal and a new metal fence now replaces the red brick wall.
There was no sign of a swan's nest on this stretch of the canal in the usual place, but they may have built further along. I saw mallards, Canadian Geese and a robin in a nearby tree. At the Spring Street end of the canal, a construction company called Watson are constructing an estate of long awaited modern houses. An exciting project for Rishton, which is largely old Victorian housing. We live in a Victorian end terrace and love the rooms with high ceilings.
The weather was sunny but it has clouded over now.

I hope you have a good day blip friends and thanks for visiting my blip site today.
