Beside the sea
Accompanied MrM on a trip to Woodhorn this morning, where he had arranged to hand over a mandolin to Eric, its new owner. We met Eric in the car park for Woodhorn Church, and before we left had a walk around the churchyard (extra).
Then on to Newbiggin-by-the-Sea for a stroll along the prom. We were quite impressed by 'Couple', the UK's first (completed in 2007) permanent off-shore sculpture (extras), by artist Sean Henry, even if it was once branded an 'eye wounding erection' by a London art critic!
Fish & chips for lunch, eaten in the van, with a sea view. Delicious, but the portions were obscenely large - even MrM couldn't eat more than half of his! One portion between us would have been more than enough.
After that we drove home along the coast road, then took the moorland road by Ros Castle. A pleasant way to while away the afternoon...
