Trout Lily

...I think! I’ve heard of them and hopefully this fits the bill, but I didn’t actually look it up. I’ll tag it for wildflowers, thank you very much Miranda.

A chilly gray day for the most part. I turned the heat back on for the first time in over a week, though it hasn't had to kick in much. Hardly ventured outside after the rain started in the afternoon, and when I did, in the car at dusk, I had a close shave with about 20 deer who crossed the road in front of me. Barely had time to stop and warn an oncoming driver who wouldn’t have been able to see the slope they were stepping out of. But I did find this little flower in an earlier, brighter hour at the edge of the woods.
