Woodland
I went walking with Xena this morning at the woods down the road from our house - called Prince's Coverts as it was land given to Prince (later King) Leopold I of Belgium in 1816 as his hunting ground. The woods are beautiful and much quieter than other areas around here, with many ancient trees. We are lucky in that like so many others who live in the countryside, we have easy access to ancient woodlands around here. While woodland areas in the UK are increasing, the wildlife within them is decreasing which is not good news.
It was sunny today but still cold, I am getting fed up with the cold wind we have every day - hopefully it starts to warm up a bit this weekend.
Gavin told me he may have to go to Switzerland on business, it is a bit of a faff now as they have to apply for permission to travel (rightly so) and he obviously has to have PCR tests before he goes and also when he come back, and then has to self isolate at home which means he will be living in the spare bedroom as I don't want any reason to have to self isolate too.
