A day out!
What a glorious day to gain our freedom! I think it might have reached 15°. But with no breeze, and no clouds, it almost felt like summer!
A visit to an out-of-town garden centre was mentioned by JR, but she was soon directed in a more exciting direction - a wee drive to South Queensferry. And Archie came with us, though he wasn’t too keen, of course. But - he made it without being sick (though I had the sick bag at the ready).
They’ve got a one-way system through the town at the moment, which is good, because it’s such a wee narrow main street. We had a dander through town, which had lots of wee cafes open and selling takeaways. We got an ice cream. An admirable 10,575 steps...
Some places look like they won’t be opening up again after lockdown - this restaurant (Extra 1) is in a prime position, looks rather derelict, but maybe it’ll be spruced up before the end of this month. I rather liked the shabbiness.
We discovered the huge South Queensferry Mosaic Mural (Extra 2) and garden in behind the houses. It was made by local people from bits and pieces and found objects, with wee mirrors as the house windows. It was charming.
A grand day out!
