Me and My Shadow

It is a windy, chilly and overcast day although the sun is trying to peek out between the clouds. Shadow chose to snuggle with me this morning till it warmed up a bit. Trek spent the night on the floor by my recliner. He was concerned about me having other dog scents when I arrived yesterday. This morning, hubby and I paid our respects to my SIL’s mom who passed earlier this week. Then we picked up Brookie’s friend for a play date. The cool weather has not prevented them from being outside all day. Our parish school had their Spring virtual bake sale today. In trying to raise the bids on some of the offerings, I won three. The carrot cake and strawberry pound cake will be great desserts while we are in WV. Not having to bake before leaving is a God-send. Brookie loves red velvet cake so that’s what we’ll have for dessert while I am here. My son’s family donated that one, made at our local specialty bakery - yum! My daughter, mother and I each made a cake for the event. We were going out for dinner but my shoulder simply will not cooperate. Hubby will pick up what we want and we’ll enjoy a quiet night in. Our grandchildren and grand pets bring so much comfort and love into our lives. I hope each of you experience similar joy this weekend. Thanks for dropping by and leaving comments and stars.
