A few days ago, when working in the 'yard, I inadvertently managed to snap off a tightly closed tulip bud. Put it in water, and the bud has opened into this cheerful yellow flower.

Saturday, the first weekend after lockdown easing, and the town is busy, with people queuing to get in to some of the shops. I don't feel the need for retail therapy, but today finally got round to ordering some socks and other 'small' items to replace clothing that was way past its best before the first lockdown began, well over a year ago. Thank goodness for online ordering - I really don't feel ready to brave the shops in Newcastle just yet!

So good talk with Tom and then Lucy on the phone this evening.
