The Phoenix Rises

Long awaited in-law visit.

Today was the day we saw Ally's  parents at home. The temperature  was much colder so we were well wrapped up.
Earlier we had baked scones, made sausage rolls, sandwiches and put the whipped cream into the meringues. By the time we drove down, the roads were very busy, with most cars having two or more people in them,  no doubt visiting as we were. I hope everyone  was careful as we certainly were. Ally's  sister and younger daughter arrived to say hello, so another catchup. Unfortunately  Mum in law, got increasingly  cold and had to go inside, but I think the cup of tea she had did warm her up. Eventually we started getting cold and as I didn't  want to use their loo, we reluctantly  said goodbye  and headed home.
Ru had also gone to see his girlfriend, as he hadn't  seen her since Christmas.  They had the same problem  with cold, so he arrived  home half an hour after us. At least they saw each other. It must be so difficult  for youngsters in relationships  and those not able to start one.
Hopefully  Scotland  is doing the right thing in our route out of lockdown  and this weekend does not cause a spike in cases. We have taken it slower than England which the business  community  has been agreed by, but I  for one am delighted that we have. With over 10,000 dead in Scotland,  we can't  be cocky, but we have been doing well in reducing our rates recently.

Take care everyone and stick to the rules please.
