Pit Stop!
Even a Sheep Dog needs a pit stop from time to time and we were highly amused when we saw this Double D transporter laden with sheep pull over as we were making our way to Burra. We had to laugh when the dogs and the truck driver all had a pee. When your driving for miles and miles on end it doesn’t take much to make you smile :). It’s a very interesting drive from Renmark to Burra. It’s not a very long drive and half of it is through the Riverland district of South Australia. The towns of Berri and Morgan are really interesting. A highlight was a quick detour to see Lock Number 2 between Waikerie and Morgan. I remember from another visit to the Murray that the pelicans love to sit at the base of the loch for the fish to fall over the edge. A pretty lazy way to get your lunch I reckon :) (See extra) It was good to have a short day driving wise as it gave us time to unwind after the huge effort to actually embark on this epic journey. Tomorrow is a big one. Burra to Streaky Bay so we’ll be up at sparrow’s you know what to make an early start.
