Another Paddle

I was excited all day about getting a paddle tonight. It’s best when there’s not much wind. Because our boat is inflatable, it doesn’t deal with windy or rough conditions.
It’s also made a difference since Rosemary got a portage trolley! The walk to the harbour is much easier. Lots of people talk too, maybe because two people wearing buoyancy aids carting a kayak in Edinburgh is a rare sight.


I chatted with a few guys with an inflatable rib at the harbour too. Rosemary commented on me using my ‘working class’ accent when speaking. It’s very funny how I slip into it without even thinking! We were quite posh in my cooncil scheme too. My mum went daft when I spoke in my local tongue too!

The paddle was fun. Just across to Granton harbour, down to Wardie Beach & then back to Newhaven. The highlight was seeing the same eider ducks as we saw at lunchtime!

The day ended with disguised healthy pancakes. They’re made with lots of green leaves, bound up in pancake batter.
