Broken blooms
The fake flowers on my bike basket have taken a bit of a bashing over the last year, as they have been exposed to the elements almost every day since last summer so I guess it's time to look for replacements.
Feeling pretty pissed off and worried at the incompetence around the lack of communication between our GP surgery and the local hospital. When Rol went to have the stitches removed from the wound on his hand the practice nurse decided to leave them in until today. He had the stitches removed today but she declared that she was unhappy with the state of the wound and told him to get himself up to the hospital immediately to get it checked.
Thankfully he had the money to get the bus, otherwise he would have been faced with a walk of over an hour. Anyway, on arrival there he was told in no uncertain terms that he could not be seen without an official referral letter from his GP.
Why did the practice nurse not know this? And where does that leave him in terms of walking round with a wound that a medical practitioner (the practice nurse) is concerned about?
And when, pray, might he receive the results of the tests which will show whether or not the tissue that was removed was cancerous or not? We already know that the results have been sent to his GP but, as he was told the other day, they are not in a position to tell him as that news must come from the consultant.
The tissue was removed on Saturday the 23rd Feb and Rol was told that he would have the results within two weeks. Which is Saturday the 9th March. Tomorrow.
Customer care? My arse.
