Corner Light

I wondered honestly whether I would get a usable image from this shot, so dark were the shadows and so blindingly bright the bounced light on the water. A testament to technology, both camera and software.

Despite the bright light, it was a cold evening, but even so, once my eye was at the viewfinder and the potential became apparent, I was engaged, for a while at least.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much colour there was in the shadow area at the bottom of the frame. It was the shimmering sparkles dancing on the water that had brought me here, but in the end, they were relegated to the corner and the backlit leaves took centre stage.
