Saturday 24th April

OK, I know it is not the prettiest of subjects but ...
... a new toy arrived yesterday, another auction, another bargain. This time a Nikon 105mm macro lens and it is in pristine condition, albeit an older model. Although "used" it doesn't look like it has been. I did try it out yesterday but didn't want to post the shot yesterday. 

Needless to say, not many insects decided to come out in my garden today to enjoy the sunshine! They must be camera shy. This fly was the only one that stayed still and allowed me to get a better shot. I have cropped it as well. I love the detail in the eyes. 

I've posted two extras from today - another fly and a flower, although I know that the fly isn't sharp overall. I've also posted yesterdays extra of a bee.

I can see I'm going to have fun with this lens.
