Rain, at Long Last!
Oh and it rained and rained...so lovely! Odette, my granddaughter who you probably know had a "sleepover" last night, said that the rain and the birds sounded like music this morning, and we ought to make a recording of it (be still my heart!).
While she was puttering around this morning, I cleaned out my bottom desk drawer which was primarily "electronics"...cables, power supplies, camera bits and pieces, ear buds...you know the stuff. And in the back I found my old Canon Power Shot...hadn't touched it since 2010, according to the photos on the card. So we looked at them and found a lot of fun photos of her dad (my son) before he met his wife and his kids were but a gleam in his eye. We had a lot of fun looking at them.
I mentioned that my friend Phil, who is a photographer who only uses Power Shots, might like the camera and Odette said "Well if he doesn't, maybe you could give it to me." And an idea was born. She's been using a pink VTech kiddie camera and really enjoying it. She asked if I'd taken my photo yet today, having accompanied me to the garden for yesterday's photo. Since I hadn't, she wanted to come with me and use the Power Shot to take a photo of the same flower that I was shooting. Super cool, eh? For the first time out, she did ok...even mimicking me by kneeling down and looking carefully at her subject. A budding Blipper indeed! If I can teach her some photography (and golf) and a love for gardening and traveling and exploring I'll be tickled pink!
Thanks so much for your lovely comments on yesterday's cowslip! Today's blip is an Allium schubertii a crazy looking ornamental allium that is obviously glistening in today's rain.
Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
