We do Remember
Today is ANZAC day in New Zealand and Australia. I drove past this decorated fence earlier in the week and returned today. I have no idea if the owners are connected to the soldier. The banner reads as follows:
Alfred William Cropp. Born in Wai-iti 16.1.1890. Worked as a foreman orchardist for Moutare Amalgamated Fruitlands Ltd Nelson, when he enlisted into the army during World War 1. He embarked on 16.7 1917. He was killed in Action in the field at the Somme France on 24.4.1818.
Thank you for taking the time to view yesterdays blip. It is on page one of popular. A treat for me and I think it shows support for the idea of sharing spaces and planting trees.
