Birthday thistle...
David was playing golf with pal Keith at Leven this afternoon and FB alerted me to the fact it was Keith's birthday today, so I quickly painted a thistle birthday card for David to take with him. Felt that was appropriate as Keith is a big Partick Thistle fan :-)
We're off to a wee cottage on Loch Tay tomorrow until Friday, a short break carried over from last year. I am really looking forward to it, even though the weather forecast isn't great. Alan is looking forward to getting rid of us for a few days! lol.
When we're away I am particularly looking forward to visiting Kinloch Ranch, as well as driving through Glen Lyon. We drove through the Glen when we last stayed in the area in May 2019 but the weather wasn't great. I am hoping it will be a little bit better this time.
I laughed to myself reading that blip as I had just started painting again after a break of over 15 years. It seems so strange as painting has since become such a huge part of my life. Hard to believe that it's only two years since the notion came upon me again, and even harder to imagine not painting for all that time!
I was supposed to spend today getting organised, but other than gathering a few things this morning and arranging a Tesco delivery, I've done nothing!
David headed off to play golf, Alan and Ally headed out on an adventure (he is so excited to be getting further afield. Strathclyde park today then they headed to Glasgow airport to watch the planes :-) and I dozed off in the garden room for two hours! I am so out of practice at socialising! Felt exhausted today!
So this means I will be rather rushed tomorrow! That said, the cottage is only and hour away and we can't get access to it till 4pm, so shouldn't be too rushed. Lola is staying with R, the dog walker who she adores so she will have a great time with him and his family and their two dogs. He lives just down the road so it's a home from home.
Not sure if we will have wifi so may not be able to blip until we get back (the cottages usually say they have wifi but in our experience it's never reliable as Loch Tay is overshadowed by beautiful hills.
Now time for a cuppa as I pack my camera equipment and crochet.
Priorities! ;-)))
