Cabin Fever, Whitstable

I'd also booked today off work and so we thought we might as well go and  visit Whitstable for a short trip. It's been much colder since Friday so we
made sure we had our jumpers and scarves on. When we left home it was grey and overcast with a biting wind. Luckily, by the time we got there the weather had started to clear.
Once the car was parked we headed straight to the beach and immediately felt that gorgeous, clean sea air on our faces. As we walked along we could see all the different boats, kayaks, rowing boats and small dinghies randomly deposited on the the pebbles (see first and second extras) as if by the waves of a past winter storm. Some were very obviously not seaworthy as their hulls were stoved in, others were so weathered that they looked like they had been there centuries rather than maybe just a few years.
Today's main image was an attempt to capture the seaside in a slightly different way. I liked the different windows of this boat's cabin and how it sub-divided the scene. The trip was finished by a pint and some chips at the wonderfully atmospheric Old Neptune pub which sits right on the beach - a marvellous end note to the day!
