Entrance and Exit
Today we chose to investigate the disused railway path in Peebles but starting from South Parks and heading West, where the line follows the south bank of the Tweed.
This route involved entering the tunnel (left side of photo) end emerging (right side of photo) near the Neidpath viaduct, which we crossed to return on the north bank and found a seat to enjoy our coffee. Here we noted violets, primroses, wild strawberries and marsh marigolds along with dog's mercury (male flowers), golden saxifrage and celandines, all under birdsong - nuthatch, chiff chaff and chaffinch being the most interesting. Sadly, no view of the heron or swans that we have observed in the past.
Extra photo is of the Tweed between Neidpath Castle and Hay Lodge Park
