Clematis in Bloom
Every year I blip this Clematis Montana on the fence between us and our neighbor.... That blue jay was hopping all over his yard so I added it. I also saw Bushtits in that curly Willow and watched two of them a few days ago pecking at the ruined nest. But it doesn’t look any different.. Maybe they are taking material for a new one somewhere else??
Watched Seaspiracy on Netflix last night. We haven’t eaten any meat for almost 30 years but we do (did?) eat some fish. I knew this was coming but this documentary had such a shocking effect the way it was put together: even tho we know about purse seiners dragging the bottom of the sea and all the accidental catch that’s discarded and whales being caught at night and how bad are fish farms for the ecology etc etc etc the message was loud and clear: There is NO sustainable fishing. Nor can you believe any label on a tuna can that says so. And there is no way to check on fishing practices in far away oceans that are even deemed protected.... And there’s a big cover up....
SO I think eating fish is the next thing to go….I’ve been looking to see where to buy the plant based stuff that several companies are putting out now - Goodcatch was a pioneer. Anyone have any suggestions? We like plant based Italian sausages, why not tuna and crabcakes? There’s even something that LOOKs like Salmon, called ribbon fish. Hummm. Will report.
