Counting blue bricks

of many varieties.

At my old house I designed a large patio from very many more of these sorts of bricks and I used the best and those best-matched with each other. What's here are the leftovers and a few I have gathered since.

There are also some blue bricks already laid outside the back door (of the type of which there are least in these piles - those with the smallest diamonds) which might or might not be rescuable from the concrete they are in.

(For the obsessives:
The tall pile is bricks that are 10" x 5". To its left is the pile of 25cm x 12.5cm. I had my tape measure with me but after 20 minutes communing with the bricks I could recognise which was which just by looking, despite the difference in length being only 4mm. Unfortunately that 4mm matters in the patio design...
The next two piles are both 9" x 4½" but each pile has a different diamond pattern. Unfortunately the patterns matter in the patio design...
Next are plain bricks in three different depths. Happily the depths don't matter too much in the patio design.)

This house's patio won't be laid for many more months but it is time to start thinking.
