Christmas Tree
This enormous Christmas tree, which was planted out by neighbours who long since emigrated to New Zealand, is due to be taken down because it is in the wrong place and problematic for several neighbours. We were discussing it at the weekend and trying to decide if anything was nesting in it, well yes I spotted this magpie and its mate going back and forth with nesting materials in to the top of the tree. So the felling will have to wait a while.
Our neighbour pointed out that further up the back of the terrace is another huge Christmas tree, outside the house our emigrant neighbours first lived in! Perhaps I will send them a photo of how well their trees have done. When we were on our retirement adventure in NZ in 2016, we overnighted with them and their two, now very grown up, fine sons in Hira near Nelson. We talked in to the small hours!
