Spectacular Weather!

We weren’t going to be daunted by the driving rain that greeted us this morning.  We decided it was time to hit the coast and headed towards Yallingup where I knew we would be guaranteed  to see nature at its best.

On the way we called into the famous Vasse Felix Winery and were delighted to be able to view the Intimacy Exhibition, A very  poignant view of the world in recent times,  I will add the words that brought me to tears as it made me realise just how grateful and blessed I am to be able to hug my family again.

Intimacy draws us into the past as a way of thinking about the present.
Different artistic representations of humanity are pictured.  It traverses a spectrum of human emotions - from joyful exuberance to pitiful misery.  States of isolation are contrasted to scenes of togetherness, sickness is contrasted to bountiful health.


Intimacy asks us to think about humanity in all its contradictions, about the significance of others and the value of togetherness in various emotional and physical states of being.  In the last hear we were all told to stay apart in order to be together again.  This not only had a profound physical but also an emotional and psychological impact on humanity.  It made us come to terms with isolation, with threats to existence and with restricted movement.  Freedoms previously taken for granted.were sharply highlighted and the value of our local culture and environment was considered anew.

We had the opportunity to view another collection of vintage wines going right back to the first vintage in 1972.  It’s always a great place to visit when in the region.

From there it was on to the coast and it didn’t disappoint.  We were in Ninniex’s territory now and I can see why she loves it so much.  Canal Rocks were going off and we both felt exhilarated to say the least.

Oh, I almost forgot, we sustained ourselves with a quick cuppa at the Cape Lavender Tea House with the biggest Herb and Cheese scone on the planet (see extra) and teapot I have to say :)

The reason I’m a few hours late blipping is because we had a memorable night at the Colour Patch and as you can see by the extra photo, I got to enjoy a spectacular piece of Dhufish caught in local waters.  Truly a “Gift fron the Sea”. We were also entertained by James, one of Steve’s close friends who is an absolute genius on the guitar.  A night I will never forget.
