You cannot possibly call that a muffin!
Up bright and early ready for a photoshoot in St Ives for my college architecture project. Island car park half empty (or is that half full!) when I arrived and the day is quite pleasant and not too cold.
After wandering and shooting for around an hour or so on the Porthmeor side of St Ives I decided to take a break and treat myself to a drink and a pastry in The Tate. The menu offered a pastry and tea or coffee at a special price, (which is still not that cheap being The Tate) ... so I asked for a green tea and a pastry...
'you cannot have a green tea with the offer only a breakfast tea' ... OK I will have a green tea anyway and (upon scanning the menu again ) I thought why not I will have a 'homemade chocolate muffin'. (£1.85). Tea arrived ... waited and waited and waited for muffin ... 'excuse me is my muffin on the way' maybe they are still hand making it! 'yes its coming soon'.
Muffin arrives about 10 minutes later in a plastic bag looking like a small sunken deflated cupcake ... 'I thought the muffins were homemade' , 'they are' ...
Took so called muffin out of the bag, it collapsed into a heap ... the only way to eat it would habe been to scoop it up with a spoon! so I pushed the plate away ... waitress comes over 'is everything allright with the mufin' ... deep breath ... be polite but firm ... 'no it isnt, there is no way you can call this a muffin its more like a sunken cupcake and it has disintegrated to a pile of crumbs so I cannot eat it ... I dont wish to be rude but I am really disappointed' ... 'I will take it away madam would you like someting else' ... 'no thanks I will just stick with my tea' ...
Drank tea ... went through photos ... some possibles ... paid for tea ... politely said goodbye ... waiter turned to waitress 'not a great start to our day' ... ignored this and gave them big smile ... left the building!
Saw some riders on the beach, got some great shots and manipulated this a little to jazz it up ... made me think of my riding days many years ago on a lovely little white horse called Tiger!
Popped in to see mum who had a cold yesterday, found her in the kitchen trying to make a cup of tea looking as white as a sheet and coughing like mad ... with more like a flu type virus ... got her back to bed ... made her tea ... spent a couple of hours with her ... but not too close ... this does not look like something one would want to catch ... mother's day meal planned for tomorrow will have to wait until next week ... get well soon dear mum xx
