Snappers Tor
Snappers Tor is one of the smaller tors on the western side of Dartmoor. A small hawthorn tree grows on one side. Although it is now in leaf, it is not yet showing the white "May" blossom. One of the curious things for me about this tor, is that it looks a bit like a monsterous crab, with two large pincers out in front, climbing over the hill. This type of perception of a visual stimulus as an object, face or animal is known as Pareidolia. I have taken pictures of the tor before and some people can see it straight away, but others struggle to see it at all.
