It LOOKS like a "Diven't!"
For the benefit of "Foreigners"-
The English words "DO" and "DON'T" are rendered, in Cumbrian, as "Div" and "Divn't" (The "E" is optional)
Way back in the "Hists of Mistory" Mam would put a label on an item which read "Diven't!"
This, of course, initiated a cry of "Divn't WAT?" this made it apparent where we were near and often elicited a cry of:-
"Divn't TOUCH it!"
Thursday this week fell, again, on a Friday. Jerra-wander day. I can't remember if I logged the fact - BUT - some time with in one or two years of Alice's death, I had some manner of leg affliction which caused me to crawl from room to room for a few days/weeks, can't remember.
I could, shortly, stand again but had kinda lost the art of walking - FAR. Recently we've started walking again (Jerra and I) thus far on a limited number of routes in order to log progress. Last time was further than the time previous and this time further still, so that we saw the lower of the two bridges at Aira Force PLUS what we think we recognised as a "DIVN'T!", as in DIVN't ENTER!
With progress, we might get to see what we "divn't hev t'dyu", while it's "still theer".
