Toys: intentions vs reality

Here are about one half of Oscar and Bailee's toys. We put a lot of thought into what we buy for them, and they play with them over and over again.

Before we had children I planned to buy everything wooden, neutral colourings and all matchy. We were never going to buy into the t-shirts with children's tv characters on. In reality, most things are vibrant and colourful and plastic. Oscar and Bailee have Lightening Mcqueen, Mickey Mouse, The Gruffalo, Thomas the Tank Engine and Dora the Explorer t-shirts, pyjamas and underwear. Have you fallen into this consumer parenting trap too? I sense I am not alone...
