A Heart Shaped....

Before I forget; time for a book review. I have read almost all of Stephen King's books and over the last few years (well probably even longer than that) I've felt the stories have lacked something.

Not the same page-turner pace that some of the older stories have. My favourite, by a country mile is IT. My sister bought it for my 14th birthday (luckily books do not have age restrictions like films), and I devoured it. That story takes place in 1958 (or there abouts) and 1985 (again, I might be out by a year) - with the same characters in both times.
In the 1950s section the characters were about 12 year olds; so pretty close to me at 14. I think this is why it always stuck with me.

Anyway, I digress.

Some of his later writing has most definitely lacked the horror element; and some have lacked even the suspense element.

So always on the look out for new reads I followed an Amazon recommendation (based on what they know about books I've bought from them) and bought Heart Shaped Box, by Joe Hill.

It's his debut novel; and most definitely has that page turner element too it lacking in his fathers current work. Yup; he is Stephen King's son; and I can heartily recommend this book to anyone who likes a bit of a scary read.

Why am I telling you this now; well because Ciarán and John had pancakes for tea made in our lovely little Heart shaped frying pan that I bought a few years back.

I just wish it wouldn't get so dirty just from cooking one batch of pancakes.....
