Sentries

My goodness, we went for a short walk today from Ebrington, known locally as Yubberton, a small village close to the town ofChipping Campden in the Cotswolds.

We had forgotten to bring the right Ordnance Survey map between us so had to rely on the printed guide to the walk. Nothing wrong with that actually except we had to make a detour because of the cattle in the photo.

The walk should have taken us across the field with the cows in it but they had a lot of calves in there too and as we approached the style into the field they all came trotting over towards us as if telling us "Thou shalt not pass"
We decided it might be a good idea to walk in there amongst them in case they felt threatened and hence our detour.

Unfortunately we couldn't quite pick up the right path again and as it started to rain the girls thought we should head back towards our starting point, which we did.

Afterwards we settled for ice creams, double scoops if you wondered, and chatted with a local councillor cum footpaths officer, who advised us that the guide we used was actually wrong so getting back on the right path was unlikely to happen.

Final thought? Don't forget the map next time!
