Dalkeith Country Park

You should see the state of our balcony? Actually you probably don't want to see the state of our balcony. All the plants are dead, the pots are waterlogged due to all the rain/snow we've had over the winter, some of the solar powered lights aren't working and the whole place is a complete mess. Ann would normally make the balcony look gorgeous in April but because we've spent the whole of April in St Ives; May has become the new April.

Went to B&M at Straiton this morning to buy new solar powered lights. Ann also wanted some cheap trellis but they didn't have any. Guess she'll have to go to Dobbies for expensive stuff then?

After having to wait in the car, while Ann did shopping things, we went to 'Dalkeith Country Park'. Haven't been there for more than a year because officially it is in Midlothian and we haven't been allowed to travel outwith the city boundaries until now. Mmmmmmm..................... the place where we normally park for free was covered in pot plants with signs directing cars to the 'official' car parks which are apparently charging £3 to park. My human is very good at sussing out FREE car parking spaces so we sneaked into a really good free parking spot. However the car parks were pretty busy. We walked for more than an hour and only saw a few people so we're assuming everyone from the car parks were headed for the cafe and the kiddie play area?

This afternoon I got left 'home alone' while Ann went off to do a 'Meet & Greet'. She got on a bus at 2pm and honestly it was like getting on a bus on a Friday night when we're not in lock down. For the past year the buses have been really empty. The No.11 bus was mobbed. But there again if the pubs/restaurants can only serve alcohol outside until 6pm (Is that the rule? Who knows?) no wonder everyone is heading into town at 2pm.

When Ann got home I went for another walk and then I got left 'home alone' again while she went to her support bubble's for dinner. Burmese Curry. Yummy. The No. 5 bus wasn't mobbed but it was definitely a lot busier than it's been for the last year.

Ann's been home for about an hour now and we've got the fire on. It's cold! …............Last Saturday night we were sitting on a beach in St Ives drinking wine with 6 friends.

Life is still hard in Scotland. Apparently we're in Tier 3, but actually there's not really much you can do in Tier 3 as a single person.

Oh well, ho hum, it is what it is I suppose.
