Frost in May
Happy May Day or Beltane....another frost to greet us at 6am. Worth it to use this title though. I like this picture because I can see the new leaves coming through on the beautiful, rather stately Canadian oak in the garden. Wish it was a real one but there are many of them in the lanes and fields about and we have loads of Hazel and Field Maple on the perimeter finally coming into leaf. We went to see Mum via the bluebell woods in Clanfield - famous for miles but she tells me she takes people from far away Hambledon to see them (4 miles) and they don’t know them.
There was some sun but it got cold as the day wore on.
The local deer have been in the garden and are nibbling my quince bark.
