Tahmela vegetable garden

On the south side of the Pispala-esker area (where people live in unique houses on the highest esker in Finland) there is a vegetable garden of Tahmela.

You can rent here from the city of Tampere a small 5x5 m2 or 10x10 m2 area to farm something for yourself or to your family - salad, beans, cucumber, onions, carrots, etc... At summertime the vegetable garden -area of Tahmela (on the front) is hot like a tropic and there is plenty of snails too in their daily salad bar. That is why I don't have the rental garden here any more ;)

In wintertime the area looks a bit different. As we all do... :)

The day was quite warm today, clear and bright sunny, only -5c and as you saw yesterday, we had a sunny start for the weekend in countryside.
First thing in the morning we went ice fishing to the Mallasvesi -lake (to the scene I blipped yesterday). In couple of hours we had a lot of sunshine and one small perch, but let the perch go back under the thick ice to grow in it's freezing home... In the afternoon we drove back home and have now enjoyed city life - with warm sauna of course in the evening, as there was quite cold - some -10c degrees again - as I took the blip.

The photo was raw from camera, not phoshopped, and I was happy as it was so good even if there was so cold and only little time to snap it as the sun was too going down so fast...
