Sitting Pretty

This coot mum had just been off the nest for a swim then came back to turn and brood her eggs. 

Almost as soon as I arrived at Coombe Hill NR the sun went in, the sky turned a deep charcoal grey and it was cold. We'd been working hard in the garden all day, was feeling slightly jaded with all that so took the shot and scooted. It was sod's law that the clouds which had covered the sky disappeared and we now have glorious sun again.
