Common Enchantments

Grosbeaks

I saw the blue grosbeak land on the feeder this morning and was able to get a shot or two before it flew off.  Imagine my surprise when Mrs. Grosbeak came back with him!   I was so excited to get the pair together.  However, the light was reflecting terribly on the window that I could not get a clear shot of them due to the white reflection.

I might need to reposition the feeder for the summer sun which really shines through the deck window and reflects on the window where I can see the feeder.    I might try it for tomorrow.

Brett had gone to a wedding of one of his friends yesterday which required staying over night down at the coast somewhere.  So we had to babysit the grand dogs.   They did really well considering...Maggie was so anxious she would not sit...she paced around from the time I picked them up until I scolded her to get on her bed and go to sleep.  Then she was up at 2am pawing at the bed.  Another scold.      Hank had played so hard in the yard here that he fell asleep and hardly moved.    Gypsy was completely worried about other dogs in the house so she was up and down all night long, keeping Jerry awake.  I was in the spare bedroom with the other two dogs and several times she scratched on the door!!  Jerry should have close the bedroom door to keep her in...I am sure she heard Maggie pacing.      So today, we had the deer drama in the yard...they chased but they did come back when I called them.   I kept all the dogs in the house after this so that the deer could come to eat the corn.   It was all good.

After lunch Jerry and I took the dogs to the new home they will be living at.  They loved the back yard as the grass is lush and high so they were rolling and tumbling on it.    We had to move the gate forward which involved taking the gate off, digging up the big fence post and moving it to a different location so that the dogs have a way to get to the backyard without being out of the fence.  It was not really too hard.  I help to dig!!   We got it done in about 2 hours...with lots of breaks for water.

Of course, Hank did what male dogs do when they have a new location..he marked his spots in the house!   I scolded him really good and told him he was bad...and he knew it!      Brett arrived home just as we finished up (was that planned!?) so we took the dogs back to him at the old house.  The dogs were so excited to see him!!   Frist time he has ever left them overnight.

I forgot to mention the continuing tooth saga...I went to the dentist Friday to get the impression made for the tooth that will sit on the implant.  She matched up the color, did a bottom bite impression and then started working on the top gum where the tooth will be.   You know that cap that had to be replaced two times because it fell off...she could not get it off!!!    She tried and tried!   I have to call the periodontal office in the morning to see if he can loosen it!   Then call the dentist back and get worked in sometime this week for her to complete the work she needed to do on Friday.    Yikes!   I sat in the car and had a good silent scream and then laughed about it.     So keep your fingers crossed this week will work out with the tooth.

A busy week for me!
