Churchyard cherry blossom.
I spotted this cherry in full bloom in the village churchyard this afternoon on my walk out. I was interested in the shape it has grown into as there is nothing obvious to have caused it to lean so; perhaps there were trees around it that have long since gone.
The churchyard on the whole is a bit bereft of interest being mainly grass as the headstones look like they've long since been moved to the edges. It would be lovely to mow paths and turn the rest over to wildflowers.
The church in question, as I'm sure you're all desperate to know, is Christ Church in Mountsorrel. One of two Anglican churches in the village, the other being St. Peter's.
