The liner Cunard White Star RMS Queen Mary after launch from John Brown's shipyard at Clydebank. Her first journey posed very difficult pilotage problems down this narrow river with some bends straightened and channels widened. Previous JB ships like Lusitania,Aquitania, Hood, Empress of Britain were very large but much smaller than this huge liner >1000×>100 foot one of the wonders of 20thC shipping.
